Yes it has been more than 6 month passed, but you still have some things to share with the universe. This time is some video shots we had while at the Tongariro National Park. Date, November 5 (Day 3). This was taken while we were strolling along the Taranaki Falls track. As you might learn, we planned to experience the Alpine crossing but were not allowed to do so (sad) due to the strong wind, more then 70km/hr. So, instead we stroll along some of the track below. One of then was this Taranaki Falls track which took us about 3 hr to complete. I wonder how long we would take to do the crossing. The Taranaki' normal walk is 2 hour where the Tongariro Crossing is 7-8 hours. Imagine it is about 3-4x longer. Can we make it, if the weather had permitted us?

Update on the accomodations:
At last we decided to spend a nite at Tongariro National Park. Even though it's only about an hour from Taupo, but it will cost us more than NZ$100 for the bus return to the National Park. We might just drive there ourself. So, I managed to book 1 nite stay at a the Adventure Lodge, National Park Village. Only for NZ$65/nite for a double (but shared bathroom).

Day 3 Adventure (5th November 2009)
On Day 3, we will depart from Rainbow Lodge very early in the morning (6.30 am or earlier) to catch the first bus that would bring us to the starting point of the Crossing which is at the Mangatepopo Car Park.

Not sure at the moment what time is the last bus (need to find out about this - maybe should ask the Adventure Lodge).
